Spoke lacing, Reinforcement, Etc.

I followed some instructions on this forum for spoke reinforcement by winding wire at the intersection. The results were evident; it definately stiffens it up.

Question is: has anyone heard of lacing a wheel in a manner that the spokes are wound at the intersection. I Think it would be interesting to learn.

I've seen it done...it looks nice, but structurally, I'd have to say either zip ties, or wire.

When you wrap a spoke around another it makes for funny load paths.
When you wrap or tie them, it reduced the loaded column by around half, which doubles the compression stiffness.
