hello, I’m new to this site and to the biking world. I have a 49cc that I just changed the plug on. I went from the stock one to a autolite 4123. When I go to start it I can hear the spark, it’s very loud. It did not do this with the old plug. It’s gapped at .024. Is it normal to hear this sound?

Also I noticed the nut on the plug is bigger than the stock one. Too big for the removal tool that came with it. It threaded just fine though.

Welcome to the forum, the stock plug is probably a 3/4 inch which is common for the Chinese made plugs, plugs for U.S. use are mostly 5/8 or 13/16 socket size. The size of the socket that it takes to tighten the plug is not important, the correct heat range, seat type and thread length are. Was there a problem with stock plug or are you trying to improve performance, either way you need to check the specs of the stock plug and match the replacement plug as close as possible.
