Solex Question

Just got around to putting a Solex on my Mom's '62 Schwinn that she wanted me to take to the dump.

The brackets that go on the front fork will be quite loose on the fork without shimming. What did some of you do to rectify that in your builds?

Thanks, Mike

Got the engine mounted. I built mounts like camlifter did as I had the same style Forged steel forks on the Chicago built '62 Schwinn Hollywood. I think I have the placement right. Will know when i fire it. Working on bending the exhaust pipe so that it fits as it should.
Had to order some tires as they are the originals as are the tubes, and I have the s7 rims so I can't buy locally.
Last night I finished fitting the old style tail/brake light assembly into a reproduction rear rack. I like the brake light part, but will have to fus with it abit as it's not as bright when the roller does the brake. May need to refit the bulb to leds with a couple of them dedicated to the brakes alone.
Always something
