21 days to the Socal Motor Bicycle Racing 5 Year Anniversary On Sat May 14th at Willow Springs International Raceway on the Go Kart Track racing Clockwise for the first time.

Practice and fun track riding on Fri May 13th then free camping overnight.

We are racing in the Red Square.

19 days to race day!
18 days if you arrive on Friday to practice which is highly recommended.

Motorized Bike and GoPed Racers on Sat May 14th are Invited to take part in some Exhibition Races on the 1/4 mile paved oval (Speedway) located in the bottom right corner of the map above.

Starting at 6pm. The lights go on at 8pm. There will be a big crowd watching.
Details will be worked out on Friday 13th.

GoQuads may be allowed too.

Speedway: We raced here twice in 2012 as a summer night race.

This will be very interesting racing this track clockwise too say the least! I look forward to flying around that 1/4mi. oval once again as well.

I'm hoping to make it. Had no time to build my minarelli bike, so I'll be on my slowpoke china. Might try to make it a little faster, but, might not. I honestly don't really care, as long as it runs.

The bar I work at just changed ownership, and I'm working extra shifts to cover some people who got cut, plus helping out with the transition, so hopefully I can get the time off.

14 days to the race!

Slowpoke can race in the novice class and rider skill is more of a
factor at Willow anyway.
You gonna stick around for the 6pm Speedway Oval exhibition races?

If I can get there, yeah. I'd love to bring my '57 moto beta out for that, but it won't fit in my honda.
 
Gonna go slap another $12 cyclops tire on the rear of my bike..... check the valves.....and tighten anything that may have come loose from the last several races :D

Prolly could have squeezed one more day of racing on the old tread....but then again maybe not.

Experimental Front Tire Change (CST 2.5" -> Schwalbe Marathon Supreme 2.0" - narrower, for some front/rear offset, and much stickier compound... might be too narrow... we will find out!)

Modified Frame and Seat Post (Drop seat and extend it further back, can't wait to see how it feels on the track!)

I got some competition for you in 6 days. Lance has raced a water cooled KTM at a Grange race.

Lance Armstrong? We testing for steroids? :)

All he's missing is a crank and a pedal (and a primary chain). Seeing as how we are racing clock-wise, he may want to switch it to the other side :D

I rode my bike yesterday and it was running a bit ragged unless I opened up the throttle a lot. When I came to a stop I noticed a stream of race fuel coming out of the fuel pump vent, squirting right up into the wrapped exhaust pipe.

I've no idea why it's doing this but it's good way to start a ball roasting fire for sure. I'll be addressing this issue asap.....trust me.

Just say no to fireball! (until after the race anyway) ;)

FOUR days to our 18th race and 5 Year Anniversary at Willow Springs.

Just got a PM about Willow so here is the answer:

Willow is a different deal than Grange.
The gate LOCKS on Friday night at 11pm and locks every night so you
can't roll in overnight unless you want to camp outside the gate.

The track on Friday is rented by Willow so I have no input.

8am to 5pm only for $25.
You guys don't know how good you have it at Grange. :)

I will be there Friday, hopefully before 11am with my motorhome and a friend with his bike too. See you at the track!

Got alignment, now all I need is 4 new tires for my 4-runner to make it to the races on Friday.....pocketbook opens as fingers cross :D

I'm in the same boat...err...car.

I need tires, insurance is due, work is slow. Pocketbook is empty.

Not sure if I'm gonna make this one.
