SBP shift kit = bye bye front deraillleur?

I have a 24 speed Specialized MTB right now. Does the SBP shift kit replace the entire front gearset and derailleur? I don't do much rock hopping or mountain biking anymore and really just want to convert it into my daily driver.

Yep, you have to lose the front derailleur and replace the stock cranks with SBP's freewheeling cranks. You simply won't need the front derailleur anymore, anyway!

That's what I thought. Not like I ever drop down to the lower end gears in town anyway. In fact, I can't remember the last time I used anything but the 42 gear on the crank.

Honestly, I pull the front derailleur first thing anyways. Never been a fan of how the rear right motor mount stud can actually come in contact with it on certain frames.

I leave my front derailleur on. It helps me to maintain outside chain alignment/jump issues.

But then again I use a Scooterguy center frame motor position instead of Happy Time/SBP shift kit.xct2
