replacing crankshaft seal

also, pry upwards on the ends of the crank to be sure the mains aren't loose

if loose, they need replacing as the seal won't work if the crank is moving up and down

I purchased a crankcase seal from a dealer that deals mostly with Skyhawk engines. I installed it but it doesn't seem to fit snug behind the magneto magdet. Is there a difference between the seals for each engine or could I possible have purchased the wrong seal?

sorry, never heard of that store

no info there about the seal and I also looked at a crank bearing, but no info there either except that the pic showed some kind of sealed bearing

search around this board & you'll see a post somewhere about ordering seala as a pair

I'm not suggesting one vendor over another but just linking this page to you so you can see a comparison between the thick and thin seals. http://www.pistonbikes.com/category-s/10.htm Most of our advertisers carry these seals.
The thinner one goes behind the magneto rotor; the thicker one behind the primary gear on the right side.

2Door. Thanks for that link. To bad they don't ship to Canada. I'll have to Google and see what other shops there are. I may check a few small engine shops in my area to see if they might have one.
