Rat Bike Rebirth

Hi, I have a old rat bike build that i built awhile back and got it back on the road. The bike is a old Murray i recycled from a trash pile. The engine is a Dax F80 (66cc.). It has a Manic Machanic clutch activator. It also has a Manic Machanic 40 tooth sprocket and adapter. I did some light port work on the engine and will be putting a new carb. from Dax on it. I have had the engine for about 8 years with no problems.

That old Murray will definitely outlast a lot of the cruisers currently produced. Got any details on that air filter?

What qualifies a rat?

The air filter is one i found in a lawn mower shop and made a mounting plate for it. As far as why i call it a rat bike is because it is rusty and old.

No, don't get me wrong, its a rat all right and I like it. I'm wondering if my bike is a rat now.

I made some more changes to the bike. Added front brake, added a upper brace to the chain adjuster and put a new carb. from Dax with the filter. The bike runs much better with the new carb. I will need to find out the best jet for the carb. I have a 75 jet in it now and seams to be close.
