Prop driven 3 cylinder rotary maybe seen?

MEASURE TWICE

I came across a guy getting something fixed on his motor bike. It had a frame mounted engine as usual with drive to the rear wheel, but what else on the back carrier?

Yep a Wooden Blade about 3 feet across attached to that 3 cylinder engine. Maybe it was a para-glider in the packs he was carrying if it was not camping gear. Then the engine straps to his back.

A lot of stuff like the gas tank was lashed on and there was no prtective cover of the blade like on an air boat.

I did not have time to see what happened when he finished fixing what ever it was when I first saw the guy and heard oh expletive.

That sounds like a real adventure in riding!

Attached a contraption I saw at the Davenport show several years ago...

Glen Curtiss built some prop driven carts in the early 1900’s- Who knows, perhaps that’s what lead him to his later career in aviation?

Where is it legal in city limits I was sort of wondering. No cover over the blade I'd be skeptical if some one said it would be legal to run on a city street. In any case it looks cool. The one I saw looked to be mounted the same.
