Proof the recession ain't over

Economic data like the unemployment rate and stock market index can be interpreted different ways.
A new Mercedes selling for under $30,000 is proof positive that the German auto maker thinks the US has not recovered from the recession.

I would say it's proof that they are competing at a lower level. Trying to gain market share.

They are trying to sell cars.

That may be so, but the CLA 45 AMG that I would want goes for almost $50k.

I think they may be priming that car as a luxury model for middle managers in emerging markets such as India and China. However, everything that I've read seems to indicate that it's a fine automobile........may have to do a test drive in the near future.
