Well, I've got my mountain bike just about finished up. I got into a bit of legal trouble last year, so I'm paying legal costs right now, but I should be able to start working on this soon. Just have a couple wheels to build for my 79er, and I can get started.
I now have my brother I can rely on for saving up for the engine, a mig/tig welder (yes, one that can do both), a stock of argon gas, and some scrap material from a couple junkyards here for me to strengthen the frame with.
I found a complete bike that I should be able to use. A Tracer Sienna. 26x4 tires, large frame cavity, bb below the axles, back swept handlebars, disc brakes even. $900 though. A few mods and I'm sure I can add in rear suspension. As I've stated a few years back, I'll be adding in bracers in several key locations on the frame. I'll have to be crafty with how I design the suspension on this frame though, since the axle is actually above the chain stays. I'm thinking something along the lines of a low leverage link between the seatstay and the shock, with a link support attached to the chain stays. Dual shock system. Like I said, need to be crafty.
