Arrow is suppose to face the exhaust, but The piston is the same on both sides so I wouldn't see how it would make a difference. I've always done it that way though.

Thats not an arrow.

That triangle mark points to the intake side.

piston is not the same on both sides, the ring pins face the intake.

Thanks L, that's what I've read too. I'll pull the cyl. later to be sure. Everyone agree? H.

Been too much into my new to me car lately I forgot about the ring pins. Need to get back into the bike!

Got it, pins toward intake. Now, to determine what piston and cylinder I need to have for a rebuild, I need to measure the skirt to wrist pin distance, and/or get the number off the con rod, right? This help is more than I have ever experienced on other boards. Thank you all, H.

It's a low wrist pin hole piston / PK 80 style.

The other type is of course the high hole type.

So, I need a type A piston, if I'm reading other posts correctly? A=LOW , B=High wristpin? Whew! Last week I thought you just bought a top rebuild kit. I am grateful, H.
