I think its a skip tooth,and looks like a shifter going in the axle and on the tank

Its an Iver Johnson they made firearms and bicycles i'd love to have one as i have a pistol that belonged to my grandfather they are kinda rare and pricey theres a guy here in town that has one all in pieces 1350 its shaft drive only one i've ever seen very cool
