Make-over came out good Rick. (^)
Are those rigid girder forks another purchase from cnolmotorsport?
Thanks Pete and they are. I've another set on order to use as a basis for a four leaf spring creation that I've been putting off for a couple of years now. These forks are extremely robust & befit a motorized bike.

The Grubee frame & engine shown have about 10,000 miles of riding & going on 4 years of service; though I did a recent top end performance upgrade chronicled in earlier posts , this thread. The old cylinder and piston looked good to go another ten at the time. I've used aluminum frames for 3 of my last seven moto builds with zero frame cracks. I've ridden mountain bikes of the same material over the last forty years or so and had only one drop out crack (on a Cannondale) so I'm a fan of both steel and aluminum frames.

I've a lot of tidying up to complete the makeover, but as is my habit I post photos as I go and things are typically pretty ugly till completed. My favorite colour (just read your post) is metal, my second fav is black as in absence of color. Contrast is nice though. Rick C.

Those Harley Springer's look good!
Thanks Truckd I'd been looking for motorcycle, classic style forks that I could modify for moto bike builds & these popped up, no mods required. I'm pleased and they would be more than adequate for even my heavier & more powerful builds like the 5 speed over 12 hp & 150 lb. + Simplex or Harley Peashooter. I really prefer to not repeat the use of identical major elements such as as forks or fuel tanks in my designs so I'm currently picking up a variety of forks to use on older builds and future creations as well. My current V-twin build will get a single spring parallelogram style fork that required widening to accept DOT hub, rim and tire & support approximate build weight of 200 lbs. & 22 hp. Rick C.

Thanks Curt, it was worth the effort for me. Got the saddle lowered, but leaving the cables as is till I'm satisfied everything works & nothing is about to fall off!

Thanks Dan I'm pecking away at these small chores that I've put off for quite awhile. Just trying to get the bikes to suit me & somewhat completed after 2 to 4 years of riding. I've quite a list to finish and not just on these two bikes but also the X-celsior, Harley and Simplex.

In this mix of projects the major build that's ongoing is the V-twin & eventually sidecar attachment for both the Twin and the Simplex bike. Progress on the V twin is at "baffling" the fuel tank & getting it set up as a main structural element of the frame, it alone will become the frames straddle tube.
