Make-over came out good Rick.
Are those rigid girder forks another purchase from cnolmotorsport?
Thanks Pete and they are. I've another set on order to use as a basis for a four leaf spring creation that I've been putting off for a couple of years now. These forks are extremely robust & befit a motorized bike.
The Grubee frame & engine shown have about 10,000 miles of riding & going on 4 years of service; though I did a recent top end performance upgrade chronicled in earlier posts , this thread. The old cylinder and piston looked good to go another ten at the time. I've used aluminum frames for 3 of my last seven moto builds with zero frame cracks. I've ridden mountain bikes of the same material over the last forty years or so and had only one drop out crack (on a Cannondale) so I'm a fan of both steel and aluminum frames.
I've a lot of tidying up to complete the makeover, but as is my habit I post photos as I go and things are typically pretty ugly till completed. My favorite colour (just read your post) is metal, my second fav is black as in absence of color. Contrast is nice though. Rick C.
