Oil on one of the fins.

So there's a decent amount of oil on one of my cooling fins, the first one down from the head gasket. There doesn't seem to be any oil leaking from the gasket itself. Is this a bad thing?

Now with pics.

Seems to be comign from the plug. Should I tighten it a bit then?

I'll wipe all the oil down, and tighten the plug a little. It wasn't tight, however I'll tighten it a bit more, without overtightening. I'll report back if it's still oiling in the next few days.

Sometimes if the plug has been removed a few times, the gasket will leak a tiny bit. The only cure is a new gasket.

When testing or tuning, I use a "pre-crushed" gasket until I get the engine where I want it, then put the plug in with the new gasket (washer) that came with it.

Joe,
That's a good idea. I buy plug gaskets by the package. Usually there is eight in a pack. I replace them often when breaking in a new engine and checking plugs. You're idea will save me some mool-a. :) Thanks, why didn't I think of that?
