i am running the standard size 26/2.15....getting chain rub and am sick of it...what size can i go to to elliminate this problem? 1.90 ? 1.75? what is the best result to use??????
there's a lot of variables. if you can't "stretch" or space your frame out with washers on the inside of the wheels, then a smaller tire is an option.
one of the problems is all tires are shaped different. you could buy a tire that says it's skinnier, but the tread pattern, sidewall design, or whatever might still stick out as far.
i had good results with Scwalbe Kojaks. they're a slick tire and are 26x2.0.
I am getting ready to convert my Beach Cruiser and would like to know if the tire size and wheel size that comes standard on most bicycles are good to use after the conversion, or if I need to upgraded to bigger and wider?
a 26/195 will not rub with a standard 2cycle kit....26/215 will get chain slap unless you build special spacer to move the 2stroke engine over more on the frame
I have run 26X1.75 on two different motorbikes with no chain rub problem.
Also have a 26X1 3/8 coaster wheel I may try.
Limited tire choices with 26X1 3/8, because standard mountain bike tires are too small for that rim.
