Hey guys,

I have been lurking here for a little while getting ideas together for my first

project. I just picked up a Schwinn Clairmont to use as my starting point. I

have done a TON of research trying to decide what to use for power. I think

I have finally settled on using the EZM Q-Matic system to power it. I only

have one question though. I have seen that Helio uses the Robin EHO35 but

since that is too expensive, are there any other engines that will work

besides the honda and hs 49cc. Not that I have anything against either but

I like the 2 strokes. Is it possible to use 2 strokes like the Tanaka? I just

haven't been able to dig up anything. This is going to probably be a slow

time consuming build as I want to piece it together over time and upgrade

the bike before tossing an engine in. I am open to ideas and suggestions.

Thanks Dave, I have been doing more and more browsing on different engine/transmission combos and think I have settled on the HS/EZM kit due to not being able to find any transmissions that will allow an in-frame Tanaka 4000. Do any of you know if the mount in the EZM kit will work with my Schwinn frame? Or do I have to go custom on that. Also I have swapped the rims on the bike to some Sun Rhyno Lite rims with shimano disk hubs that I had on my old mtn bike, will these hold up to bolting a sprocket on? Just trying to get an idea of how much I will be spending on the project.

If you can use 11G that would be the best I think, but 12G will be good too. With 11G you may have to drill out the holes and I don't know how far you can go there on rims and hubs before you weaken them.
