’m really late into the motorized bicycle game. I got into a car accident my car was totaled and I learned my mistake about gap insurance. Bicycle has been my primary use of transportation for six months now. I got a 49cc (head and cylinder are one) to put on my $89 Roadmaster Granite Peak. I had some issues with the carb as I live on the beach of the gulf coast. I also had some chain tensioner issues but an arc tensioner solved that. For the most part it was great 8 miles to work then back 5 days a week for a month and a half till I caught a curb the wrong way and bent the “rear forks” I guess you could say off to one side so no way that wheel will be true again.
I really want to go to a beach cruiser for my next choice and I believe I have narrowed it down to either the Huffy Nel Lusso or the Huffy Cranbrook. Possibly a Schwinn Siesta. Luckily My commute has shortened to 1 mile instead of 8 but I do plan on putting groceries and laundry etc on the rear and sometimes pull a trailer (just laundry/bulky) Also I’m 200lbs
Can any of you speak to the longevity of your bike if you feel like one of the two would last longer. Is one more durable? Also can you recommend a good place to get parts to upgrade wheels and brakes? (Specifically for these bikes would be amazing)
Thanks ahead for anything!
