New gt5 motor ring on head causes huge gap!!

I recently bought a gt5 motor kit and the shark head doesn't seat flush with the cylinder because the ring on the head is to thick can you please help me and give me some pointers on what I should do??

That ring is a 'crush seal'... It's common on most of these 2-stroke engines.
It creates a seal into the head gasket. Be sure to always torque the head to spec! (The Shark head can go to 15 ft/lbs).
