no they are exactly the same. only the gt5 lower built quality. i got it together and im still losing compression somewhere. i ca turn the engine with the magnet. oh well lets see what happens when i turn it on. could be the brand new rings
i would spin the engine a few times to make shure it dosent hit the head then try it with the plug in to see if it hits the plug turn it with there tool on the sprocket
I did that before closing the head, after, without and with plug. Obviously. It have clearance. Im even using the GT5 head right now. Just about to finish to install the chain.
After reading your thread it sounds like you have a blown seal on the crank or a leak between the case half's. Look for fuel behind the magnet or the small end gear.
But now Im using my previous bottom that ran amazing. The only thing thats the same is the cylinder case.

My buddy got a new PK 80 and it doesent have as much power or speed like his other engines, with a reg muffler and a 72 jet he only got 25 mph, it sounded rich, so he put a 70 jet in his speed carb now he gets 29 mph, he says it sounds like its missing or it sputters in all the throtel settings, now he put his SBP ex chamb on and same thing, it doesent have that pick up. I e-maled Jim at Sick Bike and he said leave it alone till 100 or so miles then mess with it, he said the engines that dont run good at first get better in time, but the ones that run good at first get worse in time, so I told my friend as long as its not lean he'll be fine, but were still going to move the c-clip and check all other things elect, fuel, air leaks, carb, etc. First engine that ran this way at first, he was a speed freak always wot, but found out not to hold it wide open for a long time, he would hold it wide open for 3 to 4 miles
engines that run bad may run better engines that run good run good as long as you take care of them i have a flying horse with close to 1000 miles on it now and it ran great out of the box 2 times stronger than my last engine and it still runs stronger than the last one i had
Yes, I have a Flying Horse too ran good right out of the box, but took about 100 miles till it reved higher with the 36 tooth, I try or I do take care of mine, my friend is learning the hard way, after he sezed one. But the PK 80 I had ran rich I had to put a 66 jet in the speed carb so it wouldnt 4 strke at top end and I still got 37 mph. Witn a 40 tooth and ex chamb, the cop took it from me had it towed, by the time I could get it out of towe they wanted 800 bucks, i bult another one, let that one go. My friend thought it would run good, cause mine did, and he herd there good engines
The only thing I can think of about he engine is that its still to rich, hes using reg 2 stroke oil to brake it in at 20:1 he thinks that might be it( he usly uses syn oil to brake it in, but found out it takes longer to brake it in, anyway hes afrade for me to move the c- clip to lean it out a bit. He hopes he didnt get a bad engine, we'll try to work it out one thing at a time
Hes still got this sputtering going on, which I dont think is right. All his other engins ran 36 with a 40t they were SkyHawks. One time I had this engine sputter real bad when I was going slow, one gie I think GearNut said check my float and it was off making it to rich moved float to 21 mm and fixed it. Ya my friend Chuck wants to have the fastest bike around it seems, he gets upset when I pass him Im 145 and hes 240 hes got 26 rim I got 27 inch rims on mine. When he rides my bike he goes 1 mph slower
ifhe wants the fastest bike around he picked the wrong engine he should have a morini or a predator
Whats a moraniti or Predotor. Most people around here don know much about these 48 or 66 cc engines some of the black people would only run a 2.56 oz in a gallen of gas, they said the bottle says 50:1 and they would run there engines without a muffler said it makes them go faster, they didnt know when I told them they need back presure, they didnt know what I was talking about. I mean they dont know like to open the intake gasket open wider or a speed carb, or stuff like that. Anyway my friend doesent have that much money now, he broke his leg and ankel not working, I bought his engine and hes paying me back with his food stamps, but Ill let him know about those engines
