Hello!

I am beginning a new motor bike build and would like some advice on whether my bike would be suitable for a motor kit and if so what options for motors are available. It is a department store bike (Vertical is the brand and on the side it says Mtn. Tamer) purchased almost 15 years ago but got no use until recently (it is my fathers old bike he never rode). The seat tube is 18" (18.5" at center of axle). Top bar is 23" and bottom bar is 26.5". Let me know what you guys think, I appreciate the help!

Does the bottom tube have a square shape instead of being round? That could make it difficult to mount a motor. It should work, but as anyone will tell you bicycles are not meant for motors. Bolts and spokes come loose and you've got to inspect your bike at least every other ride.

I don't know enough to tell you if it will work but I'd say it won't unless you can make your mounts.

A two stroke will fit. You may need to buy a separate front motor mount for the fat down tube
(fat tube front motor mount). Some of our advertisers sell them or you can sometimes find them on EBay.
