I have never owned the Currie bike or kit, but I hear good things about it. I have had only the pushers that was direct drive to the wheel. Also one diy experimental bike but I found them to have a very good power to watt ratio with the Currie motor.

I use the non geared Currie scooter motor for all my builds. Mine are from the old schwinn scooter setup. It has the three mounting hole around the motor rather than the mounting plate on the bottom. I am a fan of the Currie scooter motor. I expect that it is a good kit.

I expect that if I bought one of these I would have to find a way to get rid of those battery holders. I would want more ah batteries, probably also I would want to go with 36v pushed through the motor. Probably need a new controller for that.

So if I found a wrecked Izip, so that i could get the rear wheel and motor, that would be ideal for me.
