That is a good question. The problem is a good cruiser to one guy is junk to another. Lots of things to consider, how much money do you want to spend, what is you intended use of the bike, how big of a person are you, and so on. Just about any cruiser can be made into a good motorized bicycle. The better the bike is when you start the easyer it is to make a good motorized bicycle. Buy the best bike you can afford that you like and you will like it when you are done.
Just about any Schwinn is ideal. The '55 Cantilever style is ubiquitous, made for over 50 years, a used one shouldn't be too hard to find one on Craigslist.
