Need a gasket between carb & manifold?

I’m in the process of installing a 2-cycle engine on a 24" bike. While installing the carburetor I noticed that my kit did not include a gasket for between the carburetor and intake manifold. Is one needed? Do I have to wait to see how it runs? If it is needed, I guess I’ll have to make it.

Thanks.

I'm assuming you mean where the carb slides onto the intake manifold. No gasket needed. Some have tried an 'O' ring there but there have been reports of it getting sucked into the engine. Most of us simply coat the intake with a good grade of silicone gasket sealer and slide the carb on. Tighten the clamp, not too tight or you might break the tabs off the carb. Allow the sealer to set up (dry) before starting the engine. Hope this answers your question.
