I changed out the seat for a honda bump and fabbed up supports. Then added a small tool bag. comments-

the seat cleaned up GREAT. The alum yard stick came in handy as seat supports and now front brake mounts.
 
I'm building one of these as well. I initially was using a nice chromed, curved seat post but, after my second test run the tube collapsed due to my overly fat ass. The Pedal Chopper guys out in Florida sent me a SOLID, TEMPERED STEEL replacement! Works great (maybe loosing a few pounds may increase the power to weight ratio!)
