hello all!

im looking to start a new project
her name is Muriel
shes a Ross compact girls step-thru

i have a 33cc tanaka engine that came originally on a mini gokart
here: http://www.dhrcproperties.com/scooters/index.php?productID=127

i have a dilema,
the engine has a 3.2/1 gearbox (i think) and the sprocket is for #25 chain.

i was originally going to friction drive with this engine with the centrifugal clutch, but i decided that the bike wouldent coast well with the friction wheel always on the tire

my question to you all is:

where can i find a sprocket/ragjoint for #25 chain?
or
where can i find a drive sprocket with a "D" shaped center drive hole to use with 40/41 chain and a stock chinagirl ragjoint?

she has a 3 speed hub BTW

You might try thatsdax.com...............Curt There is a add in the upper right hand corner of the addvertisers here.

ive been to dax, what does he have that i need?

will the sprocket i linked work with a stock rag joint sprocket?

thanks

Yes it will work with the typical rag joint sprocket. Cant say about the gear box.

thanks curt and cannon,

ill take better pics of the gear box for reference,

is the drive hole "D" usually one size or do they come in a range of sizes?

mcmastercarr didnt have any "D" drive sprockets, so i assume its an uncommon mount

All made in China or were ever,

My mothers name was Muriel.

I think with that gear box it changes the rotation and the motor has to be mounted in reverse check the rotation.............Curt

here are some better pics of the engine im puttin' on her

its a nice little engine, and i love the idea of just a throttle and brakes on the bars

hello all
just an update,

i ordered parts!
ill never know till i get the things together so i just bought the sprocket

and just my luck. it doesnt fit.

the tncscooters sprocket is a D drive but has a slightly smaller hole

should i file the sprocket down or the gearbox spindle?

I think with that gear box it changes the rotation and the motor has to be mounted in reverse check the rotation.............Curt

i double checked, the engine spins the right way. if you check out the link for the gocart it came from in myy first post, you can see the way the engine is mounted, with the chain on the left.

i also have the ragjoint and new tires ordered. i hope this rack mount goes smooth. the only real problem is the drive sprocket, but theres always a few bumps in the road
