How do you mount a sprocket to a rear wheel without buying a hub adaptor?

The stock "ragjoint" that comes with the kits works quite well if you are careful to get it straight and centered.

There are bullet proof ways to do it that don't include rubber rag joints or hub adapters.

Its for one of them, I'm currently deciding between 21 inch motorcycle wheel or 26 inch super heavy duty wheel.
