After replacing piston rings, I can no longer raise rear wheel and kick start bike as before( too much compression ) now I have to ride fast and dump clutch to start. Does this sound normal??
Thanks, skyline Steve

If the piston isn't hitting the plug..which i doubt since you only replaced the rings, I'd add another head gasket or two to bring down the compression. When the rings wear in you might have to remove a gasket or two.
Al's advice is correct but also pedal starts are not that uncommon. I'd say most of us do it. In fact it's the way the engines were designed to be started.
