Leaky NT Carb

Hello,
I just finished installing the engine, and getting ready to start the engine, I opened the fuel line valve (petcock) and about 15 seconds later, gas started coming out of the carb float tickler button. Now if I open the valve, gas immediatly starts leaking.

Anyone know why gas leaks out of the carb like this? Any solution to this problem?

To remedy this, you can change the float height, it's too high now and you need to lower it by adjusting the tang "downward".

samething happened to me, needle seat needed cleaning. goat's right too.

How exactly is this done? I removed the float, and verified that it was not leaking...

The tang is the part that is horseshoe shaped above the float.
