is it difficult to install a shift kit on a electra cruiser 1

I have an electra cruiser 1 and wanna do a complete install as far as motor with decked out performance upgrade and I also wanna install a shift kit if at all possible. just looking for any advice or pics of an electra cruiser 1 frame with wit all possible performance parts and shift kit.
 
Dunno as I have not done one electric yet. It looks pretty straight forward easy. I am gonna say I think it is considerably easier than a gas kit for sure! Sombody will pipe in.

Adding a SA 3 or 5 speed hub will work with a shift kit.

Looks to me like the Electra Cruiser has plenty of room for the sbp shift kit, you'll also need a kit to convert the one piece cranks to a 3 piece setup and you'll most likely have to fabricate a front engine mount once you get everything else in order, if you have a good amount of tools and good mechanic knowledge you should be able to make you a nice shifter bike out of that Electra Cruiser, that is a nice looking frame.

By the way a rear wheel with a Shimano Nexus 3 speed hub is said to be a nice hub for a 3 speed shifter build.

Sturmey Archer is also A well known brand that has always made good stuff, this might be an option also
