I live in NM. This post and accompanying article were written in 2019, including the one about rpd issuing a reminder. However, from what I've found they are following section A of chapter 18 of the motor vehicle code regarding mopeds. However, section E clearly states that a motorized bicycle is not a moped. Both of these were revised in 2017. Here is a link to the law as listed on our mvd site.
