Im a noob please help me

Just got a new muffler and when I took old one off the muffler gasket was a mess and took like 10 mins to get it all off. I have a new gasket but need a way to prevent the new gasket from falling apart. Coppercoat and permatex spray a gasket is all sold out in my neighborhood. What can I use as an alternative to make it easier to remove gaskets in the future? Can I use regular metallic spray paint? Could I use the gasket maker in a toothpaste tube and paint it on my gaskets?

Spray paint is an old trick we used to seal exhaust flanges to the head on car years ago, should still work.

Coat it with any antisieze stuff.

You mean like wd40? I cant see that helping to stop my gaskets from falling apart

No, the aluminum or copper paste in a tube for spark plugs etc.

I’ve used antiseize to seal up intakes also. Good stuff to have around.

Just did some googling i now know what anti seize is. I think im going the high tempazure aluminum paint route as i have another unrelated project that requires silver paint.
