I'll Ride Again

Well after a year of being unable to ride; I was able to ride the Sidewinder again. There was no lower back pain. However several of my other muscles will have to get back use to riding. Which is why today was a short ride. It felt very liberating to feel the openness of riding the Sidewinder.

I did some upgrades to the Sidewinder. I installed a Timorn tachometer/hour counter. The nice big letters are easy to see.

I also put on new front/rear signal lights. The old ones were 75 lumens and these are a 120 lumens. The really cool thing is they were cheaper than the old set. Of course modifications had to be made to the mounting supports. Sorry, I'm on a fixed income and can't afford to put my trust into a rubber band thingie to keep the lights attached to the bike. So I took out the rotary tool, heat gun, Xacto knife set and JB weld epoxy; then made what I need out of mounting brackets from both kits. Having the right tools along with the knowledge of how to use them opens up a world of possibilities for a builder.

I just got the yooreal multi tach/temp/ hour meter on Amazon for 12$ as a used but new deal and I'm not sure how to calibrate it because I don't have anything else to measure the RPM other than an audio analyzer that I got off of Play store and it seems to be close but I'm still not sure... I guess I could download a couple more audio analyzers and see if they match in the readings.

Doesn't it automatically sense the RPMs from the spark plug wire??
I've used other tachs similar to that before... There's not much to them as far as setting them up.
