Idea for chain tensioner fix

hey guys, i just had a thought while sitting here reading this thread... don't know if anyone has tried this or not, but what about taking 2 of the idle wheels, mounting them fast on a solid bar, then spring loading them back to the axle nut?
something like this?

maybe make the connecting bar a T of flat stock that way when you attach the spring to it, it stays straight and doesn't try to twist...
 
Redneck, that seems like a lot of work for little to no advantage. If your chain is loose enough to require two tensioner wheels you'd be better off removing a couple of links.

One thing you must keep in mind is that when the engine is pulling the bike there is a surprising amount of stress on the top chain run. Under power the bottom run goes slack and ther top run is pulling the bike.
If you do try your design you need to build it so the top wheel and the mount can take the strain.

Not trying to be a wet blanket or stifle innovative thought, just stating some engineering facts for you.

No worries... And ots not that its required,.. Just a different thoughr of setup... Also i do understand the strain durring drive...
