i remember reading a tutorial for a from scratch mb that said to strip everything from the frame including the brakes and levers. is this what i should do? just double checking. what else should i do to prep my frame? it is a 19.5in chromoly trek 830 mountain track xc

prep for what? to paint it? then yes, to install engine? only the water bottle holder and the rear wheel

you do NOT need to strip everything, just right side shifter and grip and brake to mount the throttle and kill switch and the rear wheel to install the sprocket

I basically took everything off bc I’m replacing the brakes, and I’m pretty sure I don’t need either shifter so I also took those off. I plan to put a dual brake lever on the left side

if you want to keep your pedal gears you should leave the shifters, if ur ok with having a single speed then ur on the right path
