How much bigger and heavier is a 301 than a 212?
How much more power does a 301 have?

301 has 1" shaft vs 212 3/4"

It's a big motor but you could definitely get some performance out of it. Basic at home mods shave head port polish fab up a high flow intake and exhaust. Of course the rest of your build will need to match and won't be cost effective but it'll be a helluva lotta fun!

212 is 37.5 lbs. 16 lbs less, 2.5" narrower and 6.5 HP which can be 10 HP with a few cheap mods but you got it for freee!!!

$229 new so it's worth about $100

301 has a 1" ouput shaft.
212cc has a 3/4" so you coud use the $175 3DS manual clutch
which used to advertize on the sidebar here.

You can get a 1" torque converter for about as much as the 3/4" shaft model.

i have a tubeing bender and a 1 inch die .im going to build my own frame,any suggestions on tubing thickness would be apreceated.im also starting a parts list,ideas here also would be welcome.thanks in advance.mike
