Well, here she is in all of her dusty glory. I need to get a clutch cover, but for the most part it is all there. I am considering doing some type of frame conversion, maybe a Sportsman frame. This will be a fun project!

I am very new to the Whizzer. This is a learning experiance for me. I met the seller through a friend of a friend. We started talking bicycles. It turns out he is a collector/enthusiest as well. So as the beers went down we started dealing. Before leaving, I had bought the Whizzer, a N.I.B. OCC Schwinn and a 20" Lowrider.LOL

the whizzer has a westman cast iron jug,real good, with a 22mm carb, looks like NE head,
the slip clutch has a tensioner pulley that serves two purposes, one is to release the belt when the hand lever is pulled in, the other is to tension the belt when engaged,this one helps the belt to wrap around more of the rear pulley, much better, linkage arm could be longer.
has the venting for crankcase breather. also if you look at your crankcase cover you'll see at the top middle a small round cover, this i think was for a vintage crankcase breather, smart idea, i'm working with this one myself right now too, thought i was the only one.

Thanks for the info! Hopefully I can have some time to mess around with it tomorrow. I would love to take it for a little cruise!

You mentioned possibly a "Sportsman frame". Don't forget, the Sportsman needs a kick starter since the bike is too low for pedals. Kick starter parts are hard to find and very expensive.

Hi Highwaystar, Geo is specking of the vintage whizzer sportsman frame, comes with 20" wheels. not the sportsman frame that sportscarpat makes.

I have drained the old gas,replaced the spark plug,changed the oil and I have replaced the broken mini toggle switch. I have ordered a new clutch cover and mounts. I am hoping to be able to give it a couple kicks today and see how it runs!
 
how'd it go? isnt that sportsman pic mason put on cool! love the longer look of it compared to my NE5
 
I was able to spend a little time working on it. I need to replace the battery. But, I ended up getting my kid's bikes out and just riding around and playing with them. I have a (new to me) Electra Rat Fink Ican't stay off of.

Highwaystar does the whizzer have spark? doesn't need a battery for that. key should be on though, also needs the kill switch set to run. Thanks for keeping us posted!

Oh yeah, it has spark. I am just trying to get everything in order and somewhat back to working order. Our weather is still pretty crappy (it is snowing right now). So, I have a little bit of time to put into it. I want to refinish it, but between now and Spring, I just don't think I could do the job I want to in that time frame.

I was able to spend a few minutes messing around with it tonight. And I am very pleased to say I was able to get it fired up. These motors make a very nice sound!
 
That sounds like a great event. We are about 120 miles west, so it is very doable.

I had the bike out again today. It is a bit of a pain to start the first time (in 21 deg. weather,LOL), but once warmed up she runs like a dream. I am still in the "get comfortable" stage. I am venturing out a little farther each time, so far so good. The bike feels very solid.

I ordered a clutch cover from EBay. But it is going to take a little creativity to mount on my bike. It shouldn't be to hard to figure out.
