This is my first Thread, and first Build. Live in Naperville, Il. I have been collecting vintage bikes for the past 20 years. After discovering this site I decided to give a shot at motorizing. Used a chrome spaceliner frame, retained original parts, changed bearings, etc. took about a week and a half to build in spare time. Found some old parts laying around to embellish, headlight, schwinn bag.
Only mods were motor mounting, fender clearance and switched to #41 chain as the one that came with the motor kit was to short. After a few rides and some tweaking, runs great. Surprised at how many people have never seen or heard of motorized bicycles as I ride the neighborhood.
Pretty pleased with first build results, now starting next build on a 40's hawthorne tank bike.
Thanks MotorBicycling and it's members for all your threads which helped me get through the build and sparked my enthusiam to a new found hobby.
