Having trouble getting rear sprocket centered

Hey everyone. Today I started assembling my 80cc kit on my Trek 830 mountain bike(older V style frame). I tried several times to get the rear 44 tooth sprocket centered to no luck. Can anyone offer some tips/ideas to make the centering process a bit easier? I also test fit the engine onto the frame. The other question I have is it seems the mounting studs the engine came with are roughly a 1/2 inch short to put the bolts on one end of the engine. What size studs could I get to fit into the engine block that are a bit longer and whats the proper gap between threads(I believe its called thread pitch?) Thanks in advance!

Could rap something around the bike hub till it fits the center of the sprocket, ( Tape maybe ) Tighten the bolts evenly, like the do lug nuts on a car.

As far as studs, take one out and go to ACE hardware and see if you can get all-thread, cut to length you need. ..........Curt

Loosen all the bolts on the sprocket just enough so it'll stay in place without flopping around.

Flip the bike over and mount the wheel with no chains, so it'll spin freely.

Use a straight edge, ruler, or a ziptie on the frame just above the teeth of the sprocket.

Slowly spin the wheel and find the high and low spots. use a rubber mallet, chunk of wood, whatever, to tap on the teeth till you get it as true as possible, and slowly tighten it up. Keep checking it as you tighten it to make sure it stays round.

Motor mount bolts are either M6 if they're 10mm nuts or M8 if they're 12mm nuts.
