Having an issue with my left side pedal staying on

So I recently installed one of those wide pedal crank sets, but ever since I installed it, it seems like the left side pedal keeps coming loose and falling off. I've even tried using Loctite on the nut and everything and it's still coming off. Are there any suggestions on what I can do to permanently fix this problem? I need the extended pedal crank set to clear the side of the engine. However, since I didn't have the specialized tool to completely remove the internal parts of the crank, so I just installed the wide pedal crank on the left side and left everything else stock. Could that be the reason why it's not working? Every time I would take my bike out for even just 10 or 15 minutes, the pedal would end up coming loose and it's extremely frustrating and I would like to permanently resolve this problem.

Did you put the right crank arm on the right side and the left crank arm on the left side? The right side has right hand threads for the pedals and the left side has left hand threads.

This is done so that when you pedal the pedals are always self tightening.
