guess what happened at 30 mph!

My wife was a half block in front of me when this happened. She said my lights were swerving like crazy so she pulled over. I just put my feet on the ground and rode it out.

Ouch, a busted chainstay! Glad you didn't crash, that could have been nasty.

It only broke the chain tensioner arm I built. But its crazy cuz the chain came off the tranny sprocket and then wrapped around in between the sprocket and spokes. Totally destroyed the tensioner wheel! Oh well,now I get to try to make one from a skateboard wheel.

Yeah the dropouts are kinda weird looking on this one. I think the bikes lower because of it.

It does have your full attention when a chain locks up. Happily no injury occurred. Although laundry may be involved.

good you didnt get hurt,and its fixable.
skateboard wheels work good,i have a roller skate wheel for the next one.
put it on the lathe and cut a groove for the chain to run in.
