In my entire life in Co.Mayo Ive seen all kinds of contraptions but never a motorised bicycle.
Am I right in saying that im a rarity round here?

There's cyclemotor clubs in Ireland who can help on the legal side of things, same as here in Britain, but there are very few people actually making their own bikes up. Do your research on what you want build; I have an ongoing Raleigh bicycle which will receive a Motobecane engine and transmission for road use, as well as a simple knockabout device using a minimoto engine and transmission on a ladies bicycle.
