Good idea to solder spark plug wire to CDI?

I'm replacing the spark plug wire and cap. I know you are supposed to screw the cable onto the screw in the CDI. Just wondering if its better to solder the new wire onto the screw and then secure with silicon and/or heat shrink tubing. Is the CDI vulnerable to the heat from a soldering operation?

I don't know if the soldering heat would damage the cdi internals, but threading a plug wire onto a terminal screw is a tried and proven method used globally on gazillions of sparkplugs.
Are you confident your efforts will bring significant improvement?
