I'm finding that the only way to sell bikes for a profit is to build custom bikes for people, and only build them the way the customer wants. I wait for someone to call me from my craigslist ad, and then if they want a chinese 2 stroke, I can do that, but if they want a 212 predator, I can do that too. Upgrade the carburetor? We can do that. Custom exhaust pipe? Let me grab my welding torch. You get the idea.

I see there's a steep learning curve when importing from China.
Documents, fees, inspections, wait times...sounds like it was a nightmare.

The one thing I noticed was no customer support once they have your $$$, kind of like several sellers of bike motor kits here in the USA.

There are already so many motorized bikes for sale on my local Craigslist I would never consider trying to do it to make a little cash.
