Glass sediment bowl/filter question

Simple thing I was wondering. I picked up a glass bowl filter, an antique one, and I can't even tell... is it supposed to have a paper filter in it? That is all and I thank you for your time.

It's doubtful it requires a paper filter, but if you can post a picture I'm sure someone will know. Dan

I agree with you. I don't think it does either.

It should have a brass screen in the top. It is a sediment bowl the water and trash falls to the bottom and is emptied out every now and then. About the only place you see them now is on old tractors.

of course! screen is there. with a real cork gasket, no less!
