i have a burley "canto" recumbent that i'd like to motorize, getting rid of the pedalling entirely. was referred here by spookytooth cycles after querrying them re the suitability/modifications neccessary to add their 4cycle "5g" motor, any thoughts?

Welcome to Motorbicycling! Only thoughtI have is to keep the pedaler drive set- up with whatever you do. Beats walking if something goes wrong and many states require pedals or you are listed as a motorcycle.

i think the 5g that spooky tooth sells is the same thing as the hoot gear box its crap i wouldnt use it. go with a q matic there the best.they cost a little more but there worth it.

Welcome to the forum. Recumbents can make climbing more difficult than a conventional bicycles, but you more than make up for it when you have a headwind. Sounds like a fun project.
