gas tanks

Try to find capacity...the ones below have descent color choices paint has to be baked on for fuel not to affect it. I did not see a gas cap on it either or a downspout/valve.

That's not exactly true. They make spray paints that are definitely fuel resistent. Also, regular automotive paint used in body shops do not have to be baked. If you want powdercoating, then yes, baking is necessary, but that is part of the recipe.

One more thing. I decided to check Egay for some vintage tanks and what have you, most of the ones they're selling are priced way higher than they are worth. Becareful with that.

One thing you guys with inframe mounts that I admire is your choice in gas tanks. With a rack mount the carb sits up high and your only real choice is to mount on top of the motor. With the proper fabrication it can be done, with folks like me who have tools but no garage, no vice, no welding cart, no air compressor it isnt as easy to get a proper mounting for an after market tank.

I feel you on the lack of big tools. I got a small mig, but no gas for it, and my workshop is my porch which tends to irritate my wife. I've always prefered the frame mounts because of the look. I just wish I had a bigger gas tank.

any updates? I would be into chipping in! I need 5 maybe 10. If no one else is still into this, I will get the 20 this summer and report.

Would anyone be interested in the gas tank I got on my bike? My buddy builds mini-bikes and he orders a bunch of these tanks from overseas. Look at the attached pictures and let me know what you think.

Howdy Slump. I would. Will PM ya. They look pretty good. If enough folks like em, be great to whittle down the price.

Thanks!

Forgot to say Slump, awesome MB! Sharp and clean lookin' build.

What is the brown box behind the seat tube?

They do look good but am wondering the price.......

Salty.shft.

I wrote a bunch of companies in China asking for quotes. First reply is $11.50 per unit, 500 min. But sample is available Via DHL. (I like samples even with the shipping costs. Some co's don't want to send one)

At $11.50 per, it would be $5,750 before the other costs.

While writing this, a few more co's responded. Will report.

I bought the tank from my buddy for $75 which isn't so bad for a cool looking tank.

That is a great price Slump. Been shopping and priceing tanks for a week or 2 and that is a deal! Carpola plastic ones are selling for between $160 and 2 some thing
