Frame clearance

I just installed a china girl kit on a p.o.s. murray and there is no room for an air filter. Who has a recommendation for a smaller filter? Need smaller height and thicknesss. (up & down and front to back)

I know. computer illiterate. Pics will be coming as soon as I can figure out how now that I'm online at home, instead of the library. Basicall, the plastic is too big diameter, and is too thick front to back. Imagine the black plastic part laying flaqt on a tabletop. I need it to be 1/4 inch tall instead of the stock 1-1 1/2 tall. About the same diameter as the carb casting in back, but thinner.

It may be easier to get an offset intake manifold. It mounts the carb to the side of the seat tube. Internet vendors have them.
