forks and rims?

hello guys i have a beach crustier a cheap one that had a coaster brake but is now completely destroyed. my thoughts are since i am on a budget is just to get a free spinning mountain bike rims and new forks on the front that except disc brakes does any one think this a good idea and how do you size forks for a bike.

You probably need to give more information on what your cruiser is and maybe post a couple of photos in order for someone to advise you.
