This is my carbide lamp on my bike.. I found it in a thrift store for about 45 bucks..
It will run for about two hours, maybe a little less.. But refilling it is really easy so you could pack a small canister of carbide rocks and water if you planned being out for a longer time..
It works really well for night time biking where the speed is a bit slower but going any faster on a dark road wouldn't feel safe..
The cool thing is that it has a candle light feel to it compared to the dead shine of LED lights, not in a brightness aspect but it feels sort of neat riding around with a small flame on your bike, you can even warm your hands on the top of the lantern when riding..
